One of the many little waders foraging at low tide.

This painting of sanderlings came from a trip to Florence, OR. There were a bunch of them chasing the waves in and out like little toys.

I just about waked past the little beauty without seeing him. Again, sorry if I have misidentified this bird.

Paddling in the clear waters of North Uist's RSPB reserve. Braver than me - water was freezing!

Normally see these in their winter woolies ,so nice change to see one in tee shirt and flip flops.

This was taken on a bright , sunny day on a beach at ebbing tide. It was really cold and windy but in retrospect it seems lovely now compared to the grey, drizzly weather of today.This sanderling strayed away from the group that ran along the surf.We did get a bit wet to try and capture them.

Another shot from a couple of weeks ago that I have just got around to processing. The head/ body angle is not that good but I quite like the slightly stooped pose. This is a very heavy crop. EDIT: on second thoughts I should have taken out the pebble over the top of the bill.

From an interesting session on the shoreline on the Solway Firth, on a particularly chilly day.
