Adult non-breeding. Supposedly a common winter visitor to Singapore but this species is definitely much scarcer than the more abundant Common Sandpiper. Settings: 1860mm ISO160 1/250s f/3.7 -1EV.
My first post on this forum, so more of a test of the forum rather than an exciting photo, but quite pleased with this using a fairly cheap bridge camera (with 30x Optical zoom).
After lunch, we set off south down the peninsula - hardly any traffic on this road really and there in front of us were these two!
Quality not the best, as it was taken through the car windscreen.
My sister was quite impressed... I heard a bird calling and identified it before we could see it!
There were two of these flying around the lochside, the first we'd seen, but saw several more over the next few days.
This is the first decent picture I've ever managed of one.
