A Sedge Warbler at Strumpshaw Fen on Sunday doing what it does best: clinging to a stem and singing its heart out. There were loads of warblers there this week and it's great to see (and hear) them. Ron
Tanny popped in to see me today,very unexpectedly!!!,he had been around the village taking lots of shots,and mentioned that there was a Sedge Warbler just across the road.Difficult to get close,as there were lots of bramble bushes.
Exminster Marsh has a road running around it, leading to a hotel overlooking the Exe estuary, and there are a fair few sedge warblers dotted along the hedgerow alongside, obviously fairly used to humans.

I took a trip to spurn with fellow birder Martin Standley yesterday. I was after this sedge warbler for quite a while it was posing perfectly it is a shame the branch is in the way.
While most folks in the hide were gawping at the osprey nest, I was contorting myself to get a shot (or 10) of a sedge warbler who had hopped up very close to my window. It had a good old listen to the shutter as it fired off, turning left and right to work out where the sound was coming from...
This was making such a noise as it moved through the reedbed, making it very easy to follow though. I had popped into this quiet hide to escape a downpour - very glad I did.
