This guy was singing his heart out about 30 meters from the car. In an attempt to bring him closer for a photo I decided to try playing back a recording of another Sedge Warbler. I had no idea just how well it would work. The first attempt brought him within 2 meters and too close to focus on!
This guy is sharing this Hawthorn bush with a Whitethroat.He spends lots of time singing his socks off in competition with the Whitethroat,but the latter is very hard to catch.
I thought that I'd upload a second picture of this bird, seeing as I'd never seen one before Saturday. I could get closer, but judging by the hovering/swooping/squawking display, I'd be too close to it's nest. I might change my route tomorrow so the Sun is from another angle, then I might have...
Never really get a decent chance of capturing these fellows, but they must be about the noisiest guys around. About as good as it got in a few hours before sunset at Old Hall Marshes
