I love Cormorants and Shags. They don't seem to get a lot of love though from many birders. I think they are very interesting and stunning looking birds. The Farne Islands are a great place for spending time watching individual birds in close up.
Peering down over the wall at the fog horn, I found these Shags. I didn't realise there were Guillemots there too, as they mostly had their backs to me, but in a couple of images they gave me a side on view.
I made sure I had a good grip of my camera, with strap around my neck;)
Off on holiday...
.... at least judging by the state of it LOL.
These Shag were on a rocky islet on the approach to our next destination, the iconic Isle of Staffa.
At least I managed reasonable focus on this one, even if it is still a bit distant.
