    This Sanderling was hanging out with its buddy--a Ruddy Turnstone (image uploaded). This is as shot with no cropping. Very cooperative to say the least.

    I wasn't having much luck with shorebirds at Tawas Point--a great migrant trap for birds. As I got back up to the main beach area I saw this one and a Sanderling. They both were very cooperative and this is the closest I have been to shorebirds all summer.
