short-eared owl

Found this near forgotten image while doing some house cleaning, as it were.

Well it looks like it could be.

This was taken in Iona back in 2007. This short-eared owl just flew along the jetty at day time (by accident, may be). He landed and hid behind somr grass and peeped caustiosly through the green.

This shot was taken into the Sun light, so not the best of SEO images, was wonderful however, to watch the Owl hunting over the Saltmarsh.

Not the best ever shot of a short-eared owl, however I was so pleased get it, been trying for sometime now. Part of the second severn crossing can be seen in the background.

Thank you very much for Cristian's suggestion on my last post that it is a short-eared owl. I agree that it is confusing as the ear is actually too short in the image, but other main ID features between the 2 is the feather pattern in the breast region. This is a short-ear taken in the same...
