Having just landed on the ferns. I was trying not to roll off a rather uncomfortable rock at the time, after going prone for the shot.

Looking a bit sorrowful with those huge yellow eyes. I wasn't sorry for seeing it one little bit. Made my day!

Mind you don't crick your neck looking at this! It sat on some rocks, somewhat against the sun, but still allowing us some sort of a shot. Then gave us a demonstration of all the angles it can move its head to, this being the most amusing in my opinion.

Perched pretty close to us, one evening on Skomer. Such a treat to see.

Gave its position away by bobbing its head when cars went by. Almost impossible to see though, when it ducked down. Light was awkward too, but you can see its amusing face peering out, and those tufts!

Hunting the moors for its family that almost remained hidden in the heather and gorse... ;)
