    Not as sharp an image as I would have liked as the light was fading rapidly! About ten minutes before I took this image a male Hen Harrier floated across the road in front of my car -sadly he didn't hang around to get his picture taken!

    A glorious day for many reasons!.....not least the appearance of this beautiful Owl.

    A Short-eared owl perched upon his tussock!.....the sunset warming his feathers and making him sleepy!.....hence we were able to get within 20 feet of him (with the aid of some skillful nynja crawling and artful shadow work!!)

    As the sun was setting this owl appeared. Mostly it was staying low to the gound in the shadows but every now and again it flew slightly higher where the last rays of the setting sun just to say caught it.
