  1. WEBL

    WEBL

One of my favourite bird acronyms, this one. Shame it was sitting on the bonnet of my blue-grey rental car and not on a "wed twuck".
  2. Western bluebird on the hunt

    Western bluebird on the hunt

I noticed this bird on top of a streelight. It would make a short flight, turn around, and land back on the lamp. After processing this image, I noticed I captured an insect as well, likely the bluebird's quarry.

    Hello World! — Western Bluebird

This juvenile Western Bluebird visited me today and took a dip in the bath. I hesitate to guess the gender as the girls and boys look much alike at this young age. I hope she/he avoids danger and lives long and prospers. Good luck. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Western_Bluebird/overview

    So Pretty — Western Bluebird

Today was in the high eighties and I think the open beak was to help this pretty boy stay cool. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Western_Bluebird/overview

    All Wet — Western Bluebird

These bluebirds don’t peck at the seeds I offer but enjoy the water bath. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Western_Bluebird/overview

    Western Bluebird

This male posed on a wire near our hawk watching site. In many areas, this species has declined because of nest site competition from introduced European Starlings, but the bluebirds seem to be increasing locally as they continue to adapt to residential areas. Although monogamous, genetic...

  24. The bluebird of fluffiness

    The bluebird of fluffiness

Another of those other bluebirds. They're very versatile in terms of pose and attributable expression, it seems. I'm sure these birds can represent the full range of emotions, including just plain bluebirdness like the first one I posted. This is, in fact, that same one. I also have this one...

    The bluebird of shyness
