I've had three candidates for this month's entry and after a lot of thought I'm still not sure which is best. Anyway here's the one that made it past the selection committee.

A good spot for me because there's nowhere you can guarantee to find one of these.

It looks striking when photographed but is surprisingly well camouflaged and difficult to spot.

The best photo-opportunity from my week in Norfolk. If this bird had come any closer I would have tripped over it!

I was driving back from a day out in the Hills when I saw this Snipe Perched on a overhead phone cable it was having trouble staying upright in the wind and rain.

Here's one from my recent week in Norfolk. More to come later. (Mostly just this bird, which came incredibly close to the hide.)

Looking for a meal in the shallows.

One of many Snipe within reach from a hide on the marsh. This one spent quite a while catching the rays.

Dead chuffed with this shot,many thanks to one of our group who mentioned it was close up and visible from the Lillian hide at Leighton Moss.

This is a dreadful photo, taken against the light, late yesterday afternoon, but it is something which I haven't seen very often. A Snipe swimming in open water between two reedbeds at Minsmere. Ron

Another shot of the Snipe which I posted yesterday. Good to see the first green shoots appearing in the reeds. Ron

This Snipe was in front of the Island Mere hide at Minsmere. Despite being reasonably close it was very difficult to spot and even more tricky to focus on amongst the reeds. They are incredibly well camouflaged in their favoured habitat. Ron

Got this shot this morning it's -6 in Rhyl still cold, It was pretending to be injured it soon flew of.
