Too many bunting pics already. I post this one just because of 1 thing: I walked out the jetty in the afternoon, taking along the Sigma 150-500 OS and 7d with me. The Sigma used to have some sort of incompatibility with the AI servo mode of my 40 and 50D, giving only 3 fps max. I am too...
Not a very good one. I just want to try around.

First day (a dull day) out with this new toy. Impression: much better tracking ability than the 40D and 50D. Only tried out ISO400 - 800. Noise is quite well controlled at 800, as this one comes up.

A trip out to-day produced my first Snow Buntings of the Winter, They were feeding in a Ash Lagoon used by a Coal Fired Power Station a most unlikely place to find these birds.
Typical isn't it, a snow bunting turns up at one of my local spots on a day I don't visit, luckily it stayed and I got to see it today, a beautiful male. Haven't seen one for a year or two so it really made my day.
Weather was overcast and windy so couldn't do it full justice but loved...
Skating on the frozen water, in search of seeds. One of the very few Passerines with feathered tarsi - it needed them on this freezing cold day and I could have done with some myself!
