Yet another decent bird for Glamorgan in as many weeks. Pity the SLR is at the doctors so had to make do with the compact. Quite pleased with the result all things considered.
3:15 pm, overcast with light rain. A group of 6 snow buntings were feeding furiously on the ground along Iona Jetty, they must be thinking of going back to nest early.
well.. chuffed with coming across this brilliant bird..
3 here today..2 males and a female(poss.juv.)
but this male was superb..
the birds were people friendly as ever..(thankfully)
loads of walkers,as ive said in the previous pic..
and made someones day with pointing out the birds..couple in...
You can see from the angle of this shot I was lying flat on the ground and this obliging bird just walked up to me. The problem then is getting back on my feet in a dignified manner getting a bit stiff nowadays
I spent the day crawling about a exposed Headland in a Force 6 wind trying to photograph Snow Buntings the odd Walker that past must have thought I was completly Mad
This colourful character wouldn't sit still for a second as it scoured the water's edge for food. The only time it seemed to pose was when it heard me click the camera off.
