Another freezing day, but I managed to stop shivering for a moment for this one.

It was 16 F today without the wind chill...brrrr.

Still not even close to Karl Egressy's beautiful capture earlier this year ( http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=235339 ), I had to settle for this dimly lit little feller on a late afternoon, grey and snowy day.

Not going out in that weather again today, so three more Oldies.

A pair have returned and this male is a ease when when you get about 3 metres away!

Well as the Snow Bunting pic I put up yesterday got some nice comments, I thought I'd put another one up today.

During the bad weather we have had leading up until yesterday, I dug deep into my archives looking for pics of different species. I came across a few unused shots of these little beauties, taken at Salthouse a couple of years ago.

Apparently, this little chap has been occupying the same small area of shingle beach for the last month.. maybe he arrived from his Arctic breeding grounds to the North Kent coast a bit earlier than his friends but whatever the reason, he's all alone. Not that it seems to bother him; i was sat...
