The snowy was so patient, I got lots of full body shots and decided to try some head shots for a change. Some showed interesting expressions, some were well lit. None were really both at once.
Egrets I've "met" before tended to be skittish, but this one just kept striding along the shoreline, with me keeping step on the path just a few feet away. I guess at Aquatic Park they're used to hikers and joggers passing by.
After the Canada goose, we saw a number of other species along the Bay Trail. Mostly egrets. I just missed snapping a snowy egret snapping at his foraging neighbors, but caught them as they flew off, with snappy neighbor chasing the others along the shoreline.
This Snowy Egret followed this Alligator around for about an hour, sometimes getting very close to the business end. The Egret would grab little fish that were trying to get out of the way of the Alligator as it crawled through the shallows.
Another from my Assateague Island. For those who have not visited the south end of Assateague Island the highway onto it is Va Rt.175. This is a 2 lane highway with a speed limit of 55 mph. On Both sides of the highway are mud flats, and almost no place to legally pull over. This photo and The...
Fast moving little guys make them hard to catch. Always looking for minnows. This particular time the tide was just comming in and there was a feeding frenzy of Egrets, pelicans and Herons diving down for minnows. I've never seen anything like it, there were litterally hundreds of them in one...
This Snowy Egret was with the four Great Egrets that I viewed the other day.

Unlike Great Egrets which were abundant, I saw only one Snowy Egret during my Orlando visit. Fortunately, this one was always hunting in the same place along the nature trail and stayed reasonably close while I took lots of photos. This was another bird I was able to add to my life list.
This picture was taken in the early morning from Black Point Wildlife Drive, near Titusville, Fl. It was hunting the shoreline, the background was very dark, and the white bird was brilliant all the elements needed for a nice photograph.
