I don't often paint flowers, but I have a particular fondness for chicory, which crowds the roadsides along with seeding plumes of brome grass in late summer.
Sparrows are amoung my favorite birds to photograph; they are taken so much for granted. I like the little brown bird. They have such subtle tones and values and yet can have such crytpic patterns. Vocaly, this bird live up to it's name.
Took this a few days ago and posted it to show the subtle difference between a Fox and Song sparrow. Hopefully I am correct on both, because they are very confusing
I believe these are Song Sparrow, but didn't quite look right to me. Also doesn't quite match the ones in any of my books but looks closest to that.
If anyone can help out with positive ID, thanks.
Song Sparrows are very common here but something was a bit different about these.
