    Still having fun seeing what the new G9X point and shoot will do through the scope. I was pretty close up, but then my min. scope focus distance is 23 ft., so it's at least that far.

    These two Song Sparrows appeared to be nesting in the bank, or at least in the reeds along the bank, of a small pond. They sat sometimes on the reeds, sometimes on the grassy "balcony" of a hole in the muddy pond bank.

    Also pretty ubiquitous. Sometimes I would think I'd seen a new sparrow species, but it was just a different regional variant of Song Sparrow. I did eventually see a couple of lifer sparrows, though, when we got to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons.
