    The biggest surprise this year has been these beautiful Goldfinches. I still have them and it's a first that they would be here in my yard in large numbers at that.

    Today has been a very productive day. I got to experience something new for a change. So to say I'm happy is an understatement I get so excited and maybe you do too. I used to get these confused with the House Finches but these have a sharper bill.

    I found this bird interesting because he appears to be molting. I assume he is getting ready for spring. This is the first molting bird I have seen this year.

    This young Great Horned Owl is found at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC. It is getting a little more adventurous and venturing out of the nest and onto the adjacent limb a little. Mom is somewhere nearby but we often can't find her. I doubt she is rarely out of eyeshot of the nest...
