Southern Cassowary

Taken about two years ago in the north of Australia.

Not totally sharp but might have to wait a lifetime to see a wild one again so close.

Male birds incubate the eggs and raise the young.Seen here is a male Southern Cassowary with one chick,foraging for fallen fruit at the rainforest edge.

These two came out of the forest to get some fruit.
