not recorded in jeddah before, but recorded in Mecca several times in the past 3 years, not sure if there is any record for its breeding. (between Mecca and Jeddah is just 70 Km)

A humble addition to the Canary Islands gallery at www.lighasfeathers.net. A male Spanish Sparrow (Passer hispaniolensis) from Lanzarote in fresh new plumage. It was rather complicated to have one of these staying still for a second!
First ever Spanish Sparrow for Suffolk, (7th in Britain) Photographed and found by me on 24th August 2012 at Landguard Nature Reserve Felixstowe Suffolk
This photo was taken by me at Landguard NR on Friday 24th August at 10.05am, I first thought it was a Tree Sparrow, but a expert Birder soon identified it as a SPANISH SPARROW and a first ever seen in Suffolk, we all tried in vain to relocate it without success, so I was the only one to see it...
More from my first trip to lesvos in April.
A Spanish sparrow who seems to have gone out of his way to find a matching perch and background :)
Handsome chap, I think.
Desert sparrow proved the most difficult of the desert specialties to locate. One of only two individuals seen, close to a Berber camp. This is probably a juvenile, due to red colouration around the eye.
