Was lucky enough to find this beauty on the pool next to The Scrape at Minsmere whilst hoards of twitchers were looking for him further along the beach!!! After that he was a bit elusive
In what is probably a very rare occurrence, here are two species of Spoonbills side by side together in the wild. On the left is an endangered Black-Faced Spoonbill and on the right, a rare visitor to Okinawa, a Eurasian Spoonbill. I consider myself very fortunate to have captured this scene.
This young Eurasian Spoonbill has somehow found its way to Okinawa and is with a small group of Black-Faced Spoonbills in southern Okinawa. This was a lifer for me and I got some decent photos too! All in all a good day!
This bird has just returned to my local patch. It was ringed as a nestling nr Seville, Spain in Apr 2007 and first appeared on the Taw Estuary in October of that year.
