    Chatting

A Spotted Flycatcher was in the same section of fencing as the thrush. Doing the usual, flying out and returning to the same spot. I love these guys.

    Spotted Flycatcher being fed

I love these birds, they're so adorable and fluffy. I saw a whole family of five or six of them the other day. The juveniles were sitting on a tree waiting to be fed. This was near my office (at a graveyard) and I took the photos during my lunch walk. Their German name is "Grauschnäpper" which...

    En route

I walked up to the cemetery that day hoping to see warblers and siskins foraging in the birches. Some years we get masses of them there around early September. But this year ... none. Still, was worth checking the pines along the top ridge of the park, and there I found a family of Spotted...

    Warsaw, Poland, yesterday

I saw the birds in a small woods by a river, at the edge of a much larger meadow with human settlements nearby as well. My guesses are an unknown flycatcher for pics 1-2 (a seemingly unusual mix of qualities: some may be due to lighting and some due to artifacts), a female/juvenile chaffinch for...

A dozen of them in the oaks today. Their fav. spot to catch insects. In fact it is exactly because of this reason why they try to breed there and get predated again and again. Crows never forget the nesting sites of other birds.
