spotted flycatcher

Not everyone's cup of tea this kind of shot. I managed to get more than a few full framers but for me these slightly dark and moody habitat shots please me the most.

Very common in Majorca, I only saw one last year in England.

I've clipped off the bottom of its tail on my best photos of the bird. Whadda mistaka da maka!

I was pleased to get this today as it is my first pic of one.Would like to have been closer as it is a bit of a crop but will just have to pay them another visit.I dont mind they are great little birds.

On the left you can spot the little insect. This fellow spends the all day catching insects from the stand in the picture. I wish I had half of his energy...

The spotted flycatcher was being blown by the wind and his feathers were quite ruffled.

Another couple of shots of the flycatcher from Friday.

This spotted flycatcher had just spotted a fly and was leaving his perch for the catch. Bit of a tongue twister, that one.

Spent a fabulous day last year watching several pairs of spotted flycatchers feeding their young. I watched this one as he hunted down on the ground in the deep shade and for just one shot he came out into the light and posed for me.

This bird seemed to be chasing the Lesser Whitethroat around the Hawthorn and Oak? Nice early morning sun to illuminate it
