As a change from uploading photos of Texan birds, here are 3 shots of local birds taken on a walk near Adelaide this morning. As usual, the Spotted Pardalote is indifferent to people and is a photographer's dream!
It has been a long long time since my last post. Would like to say hello to everyone.
Male Spotted Pardalote is carrying nesting material to a tree hollow.
Photo taken with an old M42 55mm MF lens and a shutter cable.
The Spotted Pardalote is not as common as the Striated Pardalote, but it is very confiding, and will potter around on branches a few feet away without a concern. This one posed beautifully in the sun for me - a magic moment!
Been trying to get a good shot of these birds for ages. They mainly stick to the canopy feeding off lerp on eucalyptus leaves.
This one was on a rather low tree and let me get very close :)
Hi all..this Spotted Pardalote juvie was with the Weebill that I posted yesterday, I was lucky enough to get fairly close to it as well.....I have put the results of the survey to the Shire and 'Linda' liked this one, I have only photographed them twice before so I'm very happy with this...
Adult male, nominate race. A real pleasure to watch this colourful bundle of energy is like a whirlwind as it hurries through the canopy. A great delight to have captured one or two shots of this gorgeous species
This bird comes for a drink every day but it is very quick and it is hard to get a good shot in the time available.
I miss the male every time ..but one day!
