    Continuing the theme of lifers painted on pizza boxes, this is my first Spotted Crake, a juvenile that spent several weeks at Belvide Reservoir in August and September 1999. It was a real treat to be able to sketch such a showy individual.

    Bit of an oldie this one, my first ever long-tailed duck. Late Autumn 2000 at Chasewater, never seen one as good as this since. Being 18, unemployed and a smoker when I painted this, I couldn't afford proper paper, this is painted on the cardboard box of a Safeways Margherita Pizza!
