    Steller's in a window

I caught a glimpse of something moving in this shrub and snapped a shot just as it appeared in a "window" between the branches. Not the best light down there in deep cover, but clearly a Steller's Jay.
  10. Neighbors

    Neighbors

One last shot from that foggy morning at Sea Ranch. The fog bleached out a lot of their color, but I still thought this was a pretty good shot of these neighbors at the top of a tree. Sorry I've been too busy to browse and post the past few days. I should be able to get caught up browsing...

    Steller's Jay

When I first came across this bird, it was a bit of a surprise. Blue, with a crest. I took a video at the time telling how I was working out what it could be, and putting it into the corvid family. The flight then confirmed it and the call after removed all doubt. I later found it on a data...

    Steller's!

No question mark this time. If you look back and check that feather again, I think you'll agree it was probably from one of these.
  13. Steller's?

    Steller's?

Sometimes even a single feather is identifiable. I'm pretty sure this one was from a Steller's Jay.

If I stay in the shadows, then you'll leave me alone

Steller's Jays are so beautiful, and I saw quite a few of them, but they refused to pose for me in the open. These two shots were the best I got that visit :S

    Jumping Jack Flash

A bit of Saturday Silliness. Sorry I didn't get any browsing done before posting today. I'll see whether I can catch up before I fall asleep here. Today was the day we flew over here for - the "official" (re-) dedication of the memorial picnic table for my parents. It's in a great...
