Very confiding bird

Steppe Grey Shrike on Burnham Norton Marsh, Norfolk

Originally not a bird of Britain & Europe, but seen in Rotterdam (Holland).

Went to see the Loch of Strathbeg bird today, very nice!

What a complete show off!!

like many others I went to see this rarity, it seems in the following days it been showing very close, but I was happy enough with what I got. ISO400, f7.1, 1/400th uncropped

The exceptionally tame shrike, it even flew and hoovered on may leg trying to pull off a cotton thread! It then decided to perch on everyones camera and telescopes.

I was hoping for a better shot of the Shrike pulling out a worm, but I had no leeway with the shutter speed (it was set for the bird against the sky) so unfortunately the shot came out blurred. THis is the best I managed.

I'd packed up my gear and was about to head off when this shrike flew past my car and landed off to my left. Well I had to swiftly unpack before he decided to fly off.

When I first spotted this shrike, I didn't notice the locust, when I did I had to move a bit to get them both in the picture.

This was taken on my birthday last month ... so I like it ... there were 4 grey shrikes on the same tree , but only this one has the clean and beautiful feathers, fully dressed for the occasion I guess :) I may use it as the cover page for my new book " Portrait of Kuwait Birds " ... what do u...
