When I uploaded my new visitor the A/White Ibis the other day I saw quite a few S/N Ibis fly over. the next day I found one in the back paddock at dusk so no photos, then yesterday one appeared in the back yard and wandered over to the side paddock where I was able to get this shot, I love the...
These guys are supposed to be pretty approachable, but he was way way into the lake, just about as far from people as he could get.
I've just realised that this was a page I completed in my book, with the three Ibis species and both Spoonbills!
Pleased about that!
We'd now made our way to the other side of Albany and looked in at Seppings Pond, a longish pond and this was a rather overgrown end.
On the far bank were loads, and I mean loads of Ibis. Both species, Straw-necked and Australian. This was the first time I'd seen both species together.
Can you...
Later on Alex took us on a drive. On our way into Albany we passed a hay meadow which had a lot of Straw-necked Ibis (a lot more than showing in this picture).

1also at this farm, on the far side of the next paddock was a Straw-necked Ibis.
Hans was still gossiping, so Judy and I wandered over to see what the news was.
We were then advised to go to another location by Hans' new friends. So off we set.

Here was one strutting through a paddock as we drove along the road!!

And then I saw yet another "lifer". In most of the shots I got, the plumage looks black, but I managed to capture their iridescence in a couple of shots. I think this was my best one.
I'm home now, btw, after 10 weeks 'round the world and then one day trip to Oslo for a meeting. Spent...
Tomorrow we're off to stay with the friend with the bird bath outside his lounge window which is visited by 27 species! Can't wait to see what photos I can get!!
