    Inundated with Starlings at the moment and don't they just amuse us all with there antics when a lot try to feed, these birds can keep me amused for ages (easily pleased) and what a racket when they do get together

    While waiting for the cousins to arrive for today's hike, I heard this starling calling from a rohan tree. After chirping hoarsly (his beak was full, after all) for a bit, he moved gradually closer, then flew to the far side of a tree very near me, fluttered briefly and flew away - beak now...

    I have not adjusted the colour on this image at all, I have sharpened it a tad and reduced the highlights but the colour is naturally created in the sunlight. Shame the bird was on a feeder and not a perch as it would have looked stunning
