Another to make you smile..... I was trying for a couple of aerial shots of the Cockies as they were flying around the top of the fir trees over near the stables making quite a racket, pushing and shoving each other over which was the best spot to land. Hope you enjoy!
When I first sighted this S/C Cockatoo it was at the drinking water and I wondered why it would put a twig in the water. On looking through the lens saw that it was its upper and lower beak very deformed, it had a drink and then went and joined the rest of the flock ripping up my back garden...
The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is one of the older birds in this flock and she was taking her time having a drink! She was watching me for quite sometime to make sure I didn't come outside :) There was another interesting oldie in the flock, will post tomorrow. Do love to share!
Sorry having trouble with my PC
From the archives .....I had run out of seed so decided to place these in the feeder for the Lorikeets, along came the Cocky and decided not to share.....couldn't here the tune it was playing but it took off without a thank you ....Hope you enjoy!
We had, by now, made our way back to Hinterland Park in the hopes of finding the Glossy Black Cockatoos, but still they were missing.
However wandering around the area I spotted a couple of Sulphur-crested Cockatoos up in the trees. Here's one of them.

There was me, out in the dying light of the day, spotted some Maned Ducks by the front drive and two Sulphur-crested Cockatoos wanted in on the pic too!
Of course, Ken and Judy knew where to find me another Lifer, in the trees surrounding the lake.
Rather beautiful Sulphur-crested Cockatoos! They can be rather noisy too I discovered.
