Tawny Antpitta (Grallaria quitensis) Along the water plant road of the Village of Pappalacta, Ecuador. East-slope of the Andes. This species is heard more often than seen but is still the easiest seen Antpitta in Ecuador, due to its habit of sitting in the open on top of shrubs and small trees.
This tame Tawny Antpitta came in and hopped around us while we were eating our picnic at Yanacocha, (NW Ecuador), even coming in to grab crumbs off the floor!

Last of the antpittas I managed to get recognizable photographs of. This is the "easy" one, discovered rooting about just below the tree line on the slopes of an extinct volcano. Also flammulated treehunter and occelated tapaculo here, along with lots and lots of rain.
