Last of the plants on that stretch was a thistle, but not the one I know as the Scottish Thistle.
Though I don't know which one this is. There's another plant beside it, but I don't know which one this is either. Not sure if it is still to flower, or if the flowers have finished.
Not sure what species of thistle this is, but then it wasn't the species as such I was trying to capture with this shot. It was the geometry of those blossom buds that caught my eye and imagination.
I was up on my patch yesterday and went looking for butterflies and damsels - absolutely zilch, apart from one of those tiny white moths with transparent wings.

Found this beautiful flower growing within a stand of high grass. It reminds me of a sea anemone! If anyone could id what species it is I would appreciate it!
