Back to Titchwell for this one and what looks to be the Black-headed Gull breeding colony, but there's at least one other bird there if you can spot it.
From memory, I think I was trying to get a picture of a Marsh Harrier, but it seems I completely missed!!
.... or Want a hand?
.... or.... umm... over to you. I had a better one last night, but forgotten what it was now... SM's... oh dear!
Thought this was such a cute image, taken on my morning at Titchwell.
The male Gadwall loved the stinking mud too.
A shame I couldn't get a shot of him with his head in the sun, the others were worse with his head turned away. I have brightened the image a little.
This is the last of the Titchwell series (apart from some possibilities for SF). Off to a...
Just managed to catch this Coot making a quick exit with some nesting material.
At least he was getting away from the smelly mud, but had obviously collected it from there LOL.
That smelly pool was really quite popular.
Next up a Moorhen came in to grab some weed for a nest. Wouldn't like to have been sitting with that as a bottom sheet for weeks LOL.
Although we had a flypast of a rather nice Marsh Harrier, I didn't get that good a picture of him and we had other things planned for the rest of the day.
Walking back along the path, there was a very muddy, very smelly pool, which this Gadwall seemed to revel in!
That hide was a pretty productive stop really. There were some more distant species, that I've got better pictures of on that trip.
Next up though, was this rather handsome Moorhen.
Then we had this nice male Shoveler pass in front of us.
I was rather surprised to see that he wasn't in full breeding plumage, like others I'd seen earlier in the week.
We moved along to the first hide after the excitement of the Hobby and settled down there for a bit.
It's years since I've taken a picture of these lovely waders... back in 2003 I think, in my digiscoping days.
This is a much better picture;) Well... he was right in front of the hide, which...
We moved along the path a bit more and managed to find the Sedge Warbler that we'd heard singing. I sat down on a bench and got loads of pictures of him (most with his head turned away of course LOL).
These were among the best views I've ever had, and certainly the best photo opportunity. I'd...
We actually at last made it through the centre onto the reserve proper!
It looks like these two have decided on a divorce, doesn't it!! Funny though, the next picture shows the front one with a Coot LOL..... dirty rotten two-timer!!
Would you believe I've been away from the house for 6 hours...
Very rare for me to actually be able to get a butterfly picture, so was quite pleased with this one. This was on the path towards the Visitor Centre.
At least, I hope I've got the ID right.
I'm out most of the day unfortunately, so will catch up with you all later.
We moved along a little bit from the feeders and found this Robin sitting on a bench.
He really did want his picture taken and I, for one, couldn't resist!
Now... some of you may be able to work out what happened with this morning's picture.;)
From the salt marsh we headed off to Titchwell. After hearing and trying to find Chiffchaff... (never did manage a picture of one all the week... heard loads!!!) we then saw these Greenfinch on a feeder.
Quite a treat for me, as I so rarely see, or even hear them round here nowadays.
Under the...
We're in Norfolk this week so I thought I'd post one from last evening at Titchwell. The last hour or so of light was glorious!
Lots more to bore you with next week when we return home!
