Got home from work a little early, turned the dogs out and saw this one in the bushes. It took about an hour but there it was at the feeder about 10 feet from me. It let me take several shots and different poses. Worth the wait.
I've had five of these birds coming in to the feeders lately. A very noisy and boisterous group! They make me laugh with their flitting in grabbing a seed then zipping to a another perch to eat their prize. They stay for five to ten minutes then on some unkown signal they're off and gone...
Another round of winter weather here, is bringing the birds in to the yard in flocks searching for food.
Am still trying to get good photos of the bluebirds but no luck so far, but these guys go to the feeders and get one seed they fly to the trees to sit and eat it.
What a lovely day I had outside with my garden birds yesterday. It was pretty cold outside (15 to 20F) so there were lots and lots of birds in the feeders all day long. The populations of finches and Juncos are on the move again (KC hopefully some of these birds will make their way down to your...

If I'd waited 1/32 of a second it would have been in the air--instead, because of my timing, I only got the back half of it. I thought this was kinda cute--not as crisp as I'd like but I posted it anyhow.
This is another view of the tufted titmouse who thought it could take its time while I tried to get a shot of some robins--I guess it thought wrong :-O
He was wondering why I wasn't pointing the camera at him 'cause I usually am, but they won't sit still. Our robbins are back & I was trying to get a decent pic of one of them. I was able to take advantage of its confusion & get some decent shots of him.
The weather has been dreadful (rain and heavy overcast) for the last few days so here is a pic from the end of October. I just love these little birds. Right now I've got four of these birds coming into the feeders regularly and you can hear them coming long before you see them in the feeders...
