By far my best bird of 2019, after not seeing this species for over 50 years.

A very rare bird in Lancashire. Normally a summer visitor so don't know what it is doing here at this time of year, but a few do overwinter in the UK i believe.

Whilst during summer we often see both these birds, rarely together. It shows the comparative size of the two birds.

An import from Africa back in the 1800s. Now well established. Looks nothing like a Turtle and is a B****y nuisance at the bird feeder.

The bird was only there for a few days anmd just would not turn around the time I was there to reveal the front . Last time I seen a Turtle Dove in this country was some years ago at Minsmere.

Morning all. I've never really been a pigeon/dove fan but this pair were sitting on a wire by the car after I returned from the hide. When I looked closely I realised what beautiful birds they are. I live and learn. I'm going to dedicate this to ChrisKten.....
