    immature bird, nominate race. A fairly small bird characterised by fine wavy dark bars all over the body. Like most cuckoo species, it too lay their eggs in the nest of other birds. Though a resident, it's not commonly seen.

    Spotted this male after the Malhoka encounter. Initially mistook it as a myhna but observed the smallish yellow beak and slight built and confirmed to be a visitor on close inspection. Pretty tame and rare too. At time of shot, specimen was scanning a host tree for little catepillars.
