    taken when our team was out banding osprey chicks. This bird flew right overhead. Not perfect focus but I loved the lightness of the white as the sun shone through the feathers from overhead.

    Nothing special about this Moorhen. It was just there in the River Stour whilst on my way to Christchurch from Wick, Bournemouth across the ferry.

    The bird was calling to its mate and in between calls feeding along the shallows. On one side of the wetlands the london underground district line runs and the rest is surrounded by housing estate, but this place which is called Eastbrook country park is a little gem.
