Eateing pyracantha berries in a front garden in Benfleet, Essex

I only found out recently that waxwings do not have a crop but store berries for later under these feathers on the underside of their wings

I like the transluscent motion of the birds wings as the swoop down to feed on pyracantha berries

I have got a lot of photos od waxwings feeding and roosting but I am facinated by trying to capture the sensation of birds in flight

Just a different 'take' on a Waxwing surrounded by berries.

I was trying to get a few shots of the backs of the waxwings to show off the beautiful feather-tip colours. However, for 99% of the time, they seemed to prefer to face the sun (I was standing with the sun behind me). This was the best I could get.

Quite a few landed at Minsmere,25 plus,so I was well pleased to be stood by the tree that they landed on,and had a good time getting a few shots.

i thought this one looked lovely in the frosty tree hope you like it to :)
