First time I've caught one of these reasonably close at hand.This was one of several seen on the open pasture near Castle Water, Rye.
Presumably a juvenile moulting into it's adult plumage.

I bussed it to Rye Harbour yesterday...I spent about five and a half hours out in the field. The weather was quite nice, albeit really windy, but it was great to be out in the elements.
