I loved Goa when I got used to the rubbish that was everywhere, this Waterhen struggles around the water debris it was a 100% worse than it looks. The best description I heard about Goa was Paradise in a dustbin seems very apt. Can I suggest anyone who visits takes a few bin bags every little...

these guys seem to be always on a mission..... Meanwhile, back in Surrey, the song thrush has only just finished his song from the garden tree-tops at 8pm; he's been at it non-stop since dawn. Infinite variety; what a star.

Very rare to catch them out in the open like this.

This little beauty was walking back and forth on the logs along the pond's waterfront, looking for something edible in the water.

They are such shy birds that they take off even with a hint of humans.

Just about starting to develop plumage of an adult. A very shy bird. Hides from humans even with the slightest hint of them. Got this shot after many attempts.

Managed to get a shot of this youngster as it dashed through a small opening in the under growth in the middle of a drain water pool.

Had seen this one in a small wet grassland some time back, but could not get to photograph it. Disappears into the undergrowth quickly as it is very shy and evasive. Got lucky this time around. A lifer.
