At first, I hear his unique vocal call and then managed to get off a set of pictures but only one took out of seven. It was close-cropped but it was a decent photo. His or her call sounds like a hiccup. They are beautiful and I never hardly seen them. Interesting note, the Brown-headed...

Lovely little yellow sided bird with the distinctive and almost glowing white eye

Taken at the CREW, Naples, Florida I was a little to close and could'nt back up.

I can't account for all the Vireos around. Another White-eyed and there are still some Red-eyed hanging outl So I'll be showing them off this week ;)

It was definitely a Vireo weekend during their migration.

Only quality photo I got of this guy; he was determined to evade my efforts to capture him!

This was taken the same day as the tern along the Marsh Trail.

I've only seen this one at the Marsh Trail, and at Harns Marsh, east of Ft Myers.

Been a few years since I last saw one of these guys. This one was traveling with a pair of Red-eyed Vireos.

White-eyed Vireo (Vireo griseus subsp. micrus) Sexes similar. Edinburg Scenic Wetlands, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA. South Texas Plains Vegetational Area. Mesquite thicket with Tamulipan scrub with native gardens and several old gravel pits full of water at ca. 15 m (49 ft) elevation.

White-eyed Vireo (Vireo griseus subsp. micrus) Sexes similar. Hugh Ramsey Nature Park, Harlingen, Cameron County, Texas, USA. Mesquite thicket with Tamaulipan Scrub within the South Texas Plains Vegetational Area at ca. 11 m (36 ft) elevation.

This one was gleaning insect eggs from the leaves. Look close and you can see one at the tip of its beak.
