Peter tells me he struggles to get pictures of these as they're so active!
Well you can see what he means perhaps; this is the image following the one I showed you the other day and thought I'd reserve it for Saturday Fun.
I still like these pretty wee honeyeaters though.
This was another old friend, remember I'd seen quite a few at Bowra by the waterhole.
It was so lovely to see this pretty little White-plumed Honeyeater again. You can see the 'plume' on the side of his neck.
There's a similar one, a yellow-plumed, but it would be several days before I got to...
... for a bit
Hope you don't mind seeing another picture of these honeyeaters, but I adore them!
This was the last one I saw for a few weeks, when I was much further south.
Even though there were a few of these and they always seemed to be down for a drink, I think they were truly beautiful honeyeaters.
Sorry if you're getting tired of seeing them, but I was rather pleased with this picture.
I guess the scientific name comes from the white 'plume' which looks...
My book calls these wee honeyeaters "plain"!
Can pretty be plain?
Anyway I think these White-plumed Honeyeaters are really charming and cute.
Then another Life.... this pretty little White-plumed Honeyeater.
They were probably the most common species to visit this dam and there were quite a few of them.
Hi all, long time. These guys were sitting outside the kitchen window, parents were trying to keep up with two youngsters appetites, this one settled on top of the fence and waited for incoming food supply! Pete always considered them 'his species' so my shots were few and far between, sadly...
Hi all, I've been meaning to share this with you all as this is Pete's favourite bird. He sits in the car out near the birdbath and takes as many photos as he can, anything that lands lol.... photography has been his saviour since coming home as he can't get around as he used! Do hope you all enjoy!
