This white tailed eagle noticed us at the last minute as he was flying past us while we lay hidden waiting for shore birds, he must have heard the sound of our shutters firing.

One of the (many) reasons I love renting a cottage overlooking a loch is for what you might see over it, at any given moment.
Here, we watched Fingal, one of the local white-tailed eagles out hunting one morning, chasing gannets, searching the sea weed and worrying the local wildfowl.
This female WTE was taken in Loch Na Keal from Mull Charters boat, Lady Jayne & was fishing before returning to her nest (location totally unknown).
Taken on a recent vacation to the Isle of Mull, we had 2 of these magnificent birds above us and coming in for prey.
One of our better days to remember on the Isle.
After taking the free fish from the boat trip, the eagle battled the strong winds to return to the shelter of the tall trees, to perhaps share the "catch" with the youngsters.
