white-throated treecreeper

  1. Off his tree....

    Off his tree....

.... for a bathe. Another Lifer this White-throated Treecreeper and such a surprise to see him in the water. I only got two images of him though, but better than nothing.
  2. White-throated Treecreeper

    White-throated Treecreeper

This is one of the hardest of our common birds to photograph as it's usually high up in the shadows with its brown back against a brown trunk. So I was particularly pleased to get this shot.

    Up Close!

Hi all, sorry about no comments but my grandson had his 6th birthday and I got a bit tied up taking photos of him, his school friends and family and sorting them out! I have seen this Treecreeper a few times but never got this close. I had been taking shots of the W/E Honeyeater and this one...
  9. Never stops!

    Never stops!

Another first: a White-throated Treecreeper. It was very speedy bolting up the tree then darting to another. I found him not very easy to photograph, but very entertaining :)

Only a couple of shots in the gallery so here's a third :-)

    White-throated Treecreeper

This is the type of treecreeper I always see. This one is a female since it has that orange spot on its neck.

First chance I've had to shoot the White-throated Treecreeper although I've seen it several times before. This bird has the knack of always moving to the opposite side of the tree trunk. Pity its a grainy shot but it was taken a quite a distance away. Taken in a new area that Stephen Powell of...
  14. 'Male?...

    'Male?...

I thought that I should also share the White_Throated Treecreeper (I think it is a male, ...correct me if I'm wrong.....as the female has a chestnut spot on the cheek and this one doesn't) found at the same location and doing a lot of foraging in the loose bark!.....I've been very lucky with...

    'Second sighting!'

Today was a wet and soggy one but Pete and I went for a short drive in the hope the weather would change, Hah.......we had our lunch at a Pony Club Ground where my daughter Kelly used to show her horses and drive her carriage ponies, lots of trees but few birds. Overhead 2 Wedgies flew and 2...

    White-throated Treecreeper - Female

These birds are challenging, so quick, and they keep going around to the other side of the trees only to appear in a totally unexpected spot. The cast shell of a Cicada adds some interest to this shot.
