Took my new 1.7 teleconverter out for a trial run this afternoon. The bird which prompted me to shell out for the extra reach was the ever distant Whitethroat. It's appropriate, then, that the first proper outing should contain said bird ;)
Once in a while (for me anyway, lol)...
The road to Buckenham Marshes runs alongside a railway line. On the far side of the tracks there are lots of hawthorn and bramble bushes which on Saturday contained quite a few Whitethroats. This is as close as I could get to this little chap without running the risk of becoming a railway...

The other one of my Whitethroat shots from a couple of days ago. It landed on its singing perch, looked at me and proceeded to turn around, put its back to me, and sing, lol.
