I took the time to do some experiments at the weekend while the light was good, I stacked both my 1.4 TCs on both lenses this one being the 70-200 F4 IS. They don't seem to bad considering.
The other day at the mere when i looked out there was barely a whooper swan to be seen. It was 1pm the mere was deserted. A most unusual sight. Then come 2pm like the dinner bell had been rung in poured about 200 swans. The sun was full and low and it gave me an opportunity to experiment with...
At last I get a good day to test my new (second-hand, with a bad serial number and not had "the fix" Mk 111. I must say I'm absolutely thrilled with it's performance - So now my 1d mk11n reluctantly must go.
Took this on saturday when i went for walk round a friends farm. I love it coz the swans fly right over very low. And the little lens is a gem to walk round with.
Yesterday I got my first glimpse of Whooper swans in flight for the season. There were about 40 birds around with quite a few juveniles with them. As yet they are still rather distant but as the numbers build they will come closer. I am now a happy woman!
A real suprise when I visited our local Rivermouth to-day a lovely Whooper Swan Trumpeting away Iwas told later it had been seen on a couple of accations over the summer,It could Fly and was in very good condition.
