A unusual sight in the UK a pair of Breeding Whooper Swan's this pair had four Cygnets that they kept well hidden in the Iris's, I Love the breeding Head Plumage on these birds very striking.

A little bit further 'outside the box' ;) Whooper's Feet are something else when you take the time for a good look.

Been on a bit of a break while I caught up with other things that needed doing. Many Whooper Swans still lingering at Martin Mere so I thought it was time for some 'outside the box' type shots. Oh and as you can see I do have a certain fondness for a nice redhead. ;)

We passed away our time at Martin Mere yesterday. Plenty of birds about but not much in the way of photo opportunties. However managed this close up.

For those who know Martin Mere and the swan link hide, I actually digiscoped this and it was on the far side of the lake. I was so amazed to get this after loads of missed shots as I found it so hard to focus moving birds.
