Well Peeps,
We got home from Devon last night, too knackered to even go next door for a pint. Going through London on the tube, with all our luggage and birding gear during rush hour was an awful experience to say the least. It makes us realise how lucky we were to have had our own transport for...
A typical scene at Buckenham Marshes. Hundreds of Wigeon grazing in the foreground and a rookery in the trees behind them. I will leave you to imagine the evocative sounds echoing across the marshes. Ron
Small dabbling duck, one of the earlist to reach nesting grounds in Alberta, Manitobia Alaska. Prefers shallow lakes, marsy wetlands that contain submerged vegatation. During the winter can be found here on Eastern Coast; a winter visitor to Central America, Carrobbean, Trinidad. For a small...

A Wigeon's world seems to revolve around eating, food, a little bit of flying and more eating. This is a few of the many hundreds grazing on Buckenham Marshes. Ron
A cheerful looking drake Wigeon whistling as it grazes on Buckenham Marshes. There were hundreds of them there on Sunday and the noise was fantastic. Ron

A pair of Wigeon grazing on Buckenham Marshes on Sunday. The drake has a blade of grass in its bill. I love these beautiful little ducks and it was great to see hundreds of them together there in the sunshine. Ron
The scene at Buckenham Marshes on Sunday. Blue skies and thousands of Wigeon sprinkled over the marshes, with Cantley sugar beet processing plant in the distance. The steaming chimney is a landmark for miles around as the factory works 24 hours a day processing the beet brought to it by hundreds...
Another one from the archives. Just a few of the hundreds of Wigeons which spend the winter grazing on Buckenham Marshes. They are lovely little ducks and I am really looking forward to hearing their plaintive whistling noises once more. Ron
