Where has the day gone? Oh well. I guess I at least got *some* work done. Filled the planters up front with flowers and herbs, did some quilting, even did a bit of writing. Now to post and browse and get to bed. Last three of the wild turkey lek. First this one of the two biggest guys walking...

I gather Turkeys don't fight outright. They just show off until one realizes the other is bigger and gives up, or perhaps it's until the ladies realize who's the biggest and most handsome and follow him away from the parade grounds to somewhere more private ;)

These two seemed pretty well matched for size, but I think perhaps the one in back was better at puffing himself up and spreading his wings downward to create an illusion of being bigger. Kind of like some ordinary guy sucking in his belly at the beach whenever there are women about ;)

Two big Toms moving to level ground for a parade-off competition. I'm nearing the end of the CA photos. Probably done this weekend. Then on to local late-winter shots, the Barcelona trip, and anything new I capture now that Spring has truly arrived.

But the audience doesn't look all that interested ;) This was one I was thinking of posting for Saturday Fun last weekend, but then I had a bad day, wound up in hospital for the night, and though I had my computer with me and can access the net down there, they were so busy that I didn't get...

I saw them from my car while driving to the exit. That was quite fortunate because I saw Wild Turkeys before in other places but as soon as they spotted me they ran away like hell. Who would blame them (lol)?

There are five turkeys who show up irregularly in the yard, early morning or late afternoon. It was late yesterday when I saw them and grabbed this shot.
