Plenty of these little fella's flitting about & they sometimes stopped & posed long enough to take a quick snap...should shout 'sparrowhawk' more often methinks :) Mike
This is one of my first shots using my new equipment (canon 30d+ sigma 400 5.6 APO HSM macro). I've got lot's to learn about using it but I'm sure enjoying it!

well folks just spent a couple of hours visiting pennington flash, first time in months, plenty of birds on show but not easy to photograph in the overgrown bunting hide, just managed to catch this little beauty on one of the stumps, hope you like, john.

Willow Tit...one of my favourite little birds, though most of the time, they come in & out for food quickly, so can be frustrating trying to get a pic :) On this occasion there seemed a fair few about & quite happy to pose at times... The yellow in the background are some kind of...
I had attempted to chuck some bird food on to an area where the birds had been feeding, but it didn't quite fly far enough, and landed in a ditch. So I was rather pleased when this willow tit hopped close up to get the food anyway.
I had to spend a day wandering around a new reserve in Warwickshire (it's a hard life) waiting for my car to be serviced down the road. The weather wasn't very pleasant, but the birds cheered me up, and this willow tit kindly posed for me, right in front of the hide.
Not sure why it looks like its wearing an additional feather coat...:) as don't recall it being windy or anything. Of the birds that frequent this little patch, the Willow Tit seems most difficult to 'snap' as they never seem to stay still for very long
